Ok, i'm sorry, i'm not going to try and change your ways or anything. You can hate them, bash them, make weird icons about them, but is it really healthy? I mean, how good is it for you to spend all your time HATEING someone? Why not make a community about how much you LOVE someone, instead? its a lot healthier. And with all the crap mary-kate is going through right now, its really rude to be making fun of her. What she is dealing with is really hard and not something to make fun of. Maybe you should spend more time talking about something you love, rather than contributing to the hatred in this world.

Re: my thoughts

you made a good point. i respect your opinion.

One thing i would like to correct, and im not trying to be rude:

Mary-kate is going to college and is getting away from the acting world. She is studying .. well, i dont know, but she said she doesnt want to continue this whole acting thing.

So, yea. (?!)

You sure are making a lot of wild assumptions. First, I really doubt anyone in this community spends ALL, or even a lot of their time thinking about those two girls. I certainly never give them a thought unless 1)someone posts on this community or 2)I see pictures of them on a magazine at the store. So, about .006% of my time is spent "hating" them. I get your point, but first, I don't care, and second, you shouldn't care either. Go love them SOMEWHERE ELSE THAT ISN'T AN ANTI OLSEN FORUM. Jesus God, stop trying to convert us. Why are you so concerned about our health? I'll be concerned about MY health, you be concerned about yours.

Health? You want to talk about health? My body hates me. I can't eat two pounds of food per day without wanting to throw up. Why aren't I in the cover of tabloids? Why don't I get a three minute segment on Entertainment Tonight? I've got a problem, too. Several billion people in Africa have their problems as well. Why is Mary-Kate recieving national attention for "not eating"?

She is a millionare. This is a fact. I don't care if she's not eating. I don't care if she takes drugs. She has enough bloody money to treat herself to a top rehab facility. People can make their own choices and Mary-Kate made a choice to be anorexic. It is a mental disease that affects the body. It is mental, all in her mind.

Do you know why anorexia happens? Because a person feels compelled to be skinny, to be the ideal "beautiful." Mary-Kate succumbed to that, she succumbed to the peer pressure of Hollywood. What kind of a role-model is she being if she can't even buck up to pressure? What is she telling her followers?

I don't hate them. I have no respect for them. I see no joy in their downfall, only slight relief. They are not perfect, yes. But if they are going to continue influencing the impressionable mind of the Western youth, they should stop thinking about spreading their capitalist ideals.

I don't blindly dislike someone because they are richer or prettier than me. I dislike people who loses opportunities and who sees the world through a narrow window. And as for "hating" is concerned, it's somewhat of a ying-yang concept. You can't fully realize white without black. You can't love without the "hate."

Do you want to hear what I love? I love balance.

Cristie - are you serious? Because unless that was all a satire, what an ignorance! No one "chooses" to have an eating disorder. It is a combination of Genetic disposition, cultural and environmental influences, and potential "trigger" situations that culminate and cause an E.D. Eating disorders and Anorexia do not arise because someone is "weak" and can't stand up to "peer pressure" either. Anorexia isn't about looking pretty - Goddess knows that when One's teeth fall out, hair fall out, bones protrude and skin cracks and bleeds, they are not looking "pretty". It's about a lot of different things - Control, self-denial, low self-esteem, depression etc. etc. It has nothing to do with "weakness" and I am highly offended that someone would be so ignorant so suggest so. Please read a text-book or visit some websites to find out what you're talking about before you spout off on a subject.

Uh, Yeah they are... " Eating disorders appear to run in families--with female relatives most often affected." - The National Institute of Health; "What causes eating disorders? Biological and genetic influences." - Anred.com; "In studies of first-degree relatives of persons with anorexia nervosa or bulimia nervosa, researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles, and the University of Pittsburgh found evidence that both disorders have a familial link or cross-transmission." - American Journal of Psychiatry; "Doctors studying the causes of the eating disorders anorexia and bulimia believe it has less to do with media images of slim-figured models and more to do with biological and genetic factors." - BBC News

Try checking your facts out before you open your mouth.

Someone (Physical, not online) told me that in the magazines (Not tabloids) it was exposed that she's in rehab because she's on coke. It ight be nose candy, not eating disorder.

That wasn't meant to be satire, what I just said. I might despise those girls, but before they're annoying little gits, they're females, and all females are my sisters. Reluctantly, even they are.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH SWIZZLE KISS. don't try to fool anyone with your long post trying to act all smart...most of us can see right through your perfectly correct grammar mayben ot your dumbass "im so jealous of mka i have to start a hating community" friends. dude. anorexia is a disease you idiot...and your making them sound like they are one person. they are two seperate people.
i can't believe your so much of a dumbass to wonder why her health problem is on the cover of the tabloid and not yours. she is famous. you are one of the biggest dumbasses i have ever met. yes maybe you were being sarcastic...but what you said doesnt prove a point. also if that is one reason your hating/jealous of her mary-kate doesn''t want to be on the tabloid...the tabloids make the decision to put her on the cover.

dumbass

Hahahaha. Thank you for complimenting my grammar. :) Explaining what I said to Swizzle Kiss to you is a waste of time, so let me get on to your point.

ANOREXIA NERVOSA is a psychophysiological disorder. It's an obsession to be thin. It's mental. That is the main definition, and unless I'm incorrect, that is what Mary-Kate has.

And yes, she is famous. Why? Because she acted cute on a 90s television show. If one has a drive and motivation to do it, then one is able to become famous. I, however, do not wish to. I don't want to be consumed by the evil ideals of Hollywood.

Jealous, I am not. That's a poor argument. I'm surprised you haven't learned it doesn't work here. I am angry at falsely leading girls to believe that being cute and having boys is all that matters.

Anorexic? Screw that. So are a lot of other people. We should care because she's famous? Why don't we care more about the people who AREN'T famous? Because most of the time, they have the same exact problem but DIE because no one knew about it. Because they weren't FAMOUS, like me. I'll bet they would be really jealous about not having a superior health clinic to help them with their problems, like what Mary-Kate has.

I don't know if you know this, but people die from anorexia. Mary-Kate isn't dead is she? She still has hope. Don't feel sorry for her.

.... That was what I was trying to say. Tear it apart. If you didn't get that, you're more dense than I thought.

Somehow I feel you start to get emotional over this. Don't take it so seriously, okay? This is not worth pulling a hernia over. This is a debate, I'm not trying to persuade anyone. Enough with the nicknames, profanity alone will not give you a point.

Sincerely,
the "dumbass"

I am totally shocked that someone really feels that way about annorexia, it is so not about what you are saying! It can happen to anyone, maybe a friend a sibling ANYONE. Mental illness is illness and that is that. People are treated for mental illness all the time.

Pffft. Come on now. That is the basic analysis and the official definition of "anorexia nervosa." Call me ignorant if you wish, but you can't tell me I'm wrong.

Of course it's mental, but so is schizophrenia, alcoholism, a TON of other diseases - that doesn't mean they aren't as important or don't deserve our support/empathy. Also, just because someone isn't *dead* doesn't mean they don't deserve some commiseration also. Finally, I don't get what all the fuss is over the attention she's getting - it's not like she asked to have the disease, or asked the media to cover her 24/7.

None of you gat-crashers seem to understand that this community is about all of us sharing a common interest. If disliking someone/something brings 2 people together, then let them be. If it's a group, let them be. Crashing the community is more malicious than us starting one, because this was started as a way to get like-minded people together.

Please let us be?

These "real" dictionaries are used on the website:
link to source

The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language
Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary
WordNet
The Free On-line Dictionary of Computing
Jargon File 4.2.0
CIA World Factbook (1995)
Easton's 1897 Bible Dictionary
Hitchcock's Bible Names Dictionary
U.S. Gazetteer, U.S. Census Bureau

The other link I referenced is derived from the actual Merriam-Webster dictionary. So yeah, two real dictionaries. Why do you people insist on making asses of yourselves?

i felt quite uneasy reading the comments made earlier in the debate

the one being...

"ANOREXIA NERVOSA is a psychophysiological disorder. It's an obsession to be thin. It's mental. That is the main definition, and unless I'm incorrect, that is what Mary-Kate has."

yes, anorexia is a mental illness and can lead to an obsession to be thin however it isn't as simple and plain cut as the description you've given. Anorexia may appear to be about the need to be thin however it isn't really about the food or appearance there are always deeper reasons why a person gets the illness

i also found the following comment very immature and ignorant...

"I don't know if you know this, but people die from anorexia. Mary-Kate isn't dead is she? She still has hope. Don't feel sorry for her."

yes, she may not be dead but this does not mean sympathy should not be shown for her OR for anyone who has a eating disorder...from experience i have seen many people maintain their weight but still live in turmoil because of an eating disorder

in the future try to not comment on things that you obviously have no idea about
